Officials of the National Hospital Abuja have allayed fears that former Governor Godswill Akpabio is stable and out of danger from the accident he was involved in, in the early hours of today.
The Public Relations Unit told newsmen that he could talk and recognize people , who have been trooping in to see him at the private wing of the hospital where he was moved into after being treated at the Trauma centre.
“Yes, he can talk and recognise people. Many people have been trooping in to see him since they heard of his accident, including officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). His injury wasn’t a serious one,” said Hajiya Labaran.
The former governor, who is now a serving senator was involved in an accident in the early hours of yesterday with his driver at the traffic before Bolingo hotel, Abuja.
He was immediately rushed to the Trauma centre of the National Hospital Abuja where he was promptly attended to.
He was said to have sustained some injury on his chest while his driver was unscathed from the accident.
Currently, he is said to be okay and out of danger as he has been moved to the private wing of the hospital.
Meanwhile, the hospital said the senator has been to recognise family and friends who have continued to troop into the hospital to see him.
